Here is something I came across today. Pretty much a must have!

I am not going into detail on how this works but - It's a Craftsman bottle opener (VA-44500), I think you can figure out how to use it?

I looks kind of weak in the photo, it is about the size of a half inch ratchet...

does it just open bottles...

am i missing something here

Ok this is not exactly tools for "case modding" maybe modding in general and I just realized that they are some of the most simple things I use everyday.

I don't know how I could live without these things.. I have 2 of them in different sizes... Molex Removers

And for the 3pin Molex I like the trusty X-Acto Knife

The ones in the photo are what I like and use for everything.. They are made of metal and I only had one size to begin with and it was a little frustrating because it did not fit Male / Female all the time right with out damaging the pins.. I went thought all the plastic ones with the handle and other crap on them, they are one time use and don't work that great ( threw away ).. I had to reorder the the metal ones and found I we got a different size in so that is how I ended up with these two. Luck of the draw I guess.. They are only $10 - $14 and are well worth it.. I tried to find you good link for them but couldn't, I have always just kept an eye out and bought them when I see them offered.. Also don't fall for the one that looks like a flat screw driver on one end.. Just use an X-Acto Knife it will work waaay better for the 3 pin fan connectors because it is sharp it grabs them easy and they just slide out with out crushing them bad..

I have a tip for anyone that uses a nibbler.

You know how depending on the metal your cutting, how your hands and fingers start to hurt after not too long into it, well I found that if you cut 2 tubes of garden hose and slide them up the handles, it makes cutting a tad easier, also because it thicker than the metal arms themselves u dont need as much pressure closing them down, thus saving ur hands from a tonne of blisters and bruised hands.

:) Seth

Question on that big hole puncher thing: Are you able to punch holes in any regular metal surface, say a side panel, and get that clean cut?

Another: Dremel's got this electric engraver tool. Would that be any good for window engravings?
'Cause a keywork on a window....that'd be schweet.

Wait, I bought 2 of those Irwin clamps and they don't hold for crap! I got a jigsaw blade to the face shield (ya as in riot face shield for builders) and my window was absolutely ruined because they cant grip onto a rubbermaid table. Should I glue some coarse grit sand paper to the tips or what?

Greenley punch are great but if you want to punch the big boys, 120mm you are going to need to shell out about $550 just for the punch. That does not include the wrench required to drive it.

What will you use 1/2" - 2" holes for?

80mm = 3â€

$550 for a 120mm hole punchy thing....

In AU dollars its $22 for a nibbler and $25 for a decent metal file type 3.... you have a total saving of $503.00 which could be better spent on other tools.

The greenlee punch is worth the money and will pay for it's self after time if you are using it on a daily basis like Bill and Stu.

It's not a matter of saving money. We choose not to waste our time with dinky little tools. We need the most efficiant method available.

For the hobbyist, a nibbler or holesaw makes sense.

To me, having an all-powerfull tool that can make clean fan cuts anywhere ruins the fun of modding.
